DAVAO CITY Elected officials who failed to submit the results of the mandatory drug tests to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) cannot assume office on July 1, first district election officer Marc Dominic Fernandez said.
No drug test, no assumption of office, Fernandez said the other day.
The Comelec had earlier required all candidates to submit the drug test results. The poll body had set March 24, the eve of the local campaign period, as the deadline for submission but the candidates who failed to so were given a chance to submit to the drug test before they assume office.
