A 7-year-old Madison County girl died Friday after she was struck by a car that drove up the right side of a school bus as she was getting off, officials said.
And quick action by the school bus driver most likely saved two other children from being killed or injured, said Madison County Sheriff Ronald Cary.
Mallory Eddy, of 357 N. Peterboro Road, Smithfield, a student at Stockbridge Valley Elementary School in Munnsville, had just stepped from the door of the bus on Peterboro Road in the hamlet of Siloam when she was hit, Cary said.
