May 24--Tired of hearing the so-called experts tell Americans they must become accustomed to paying higher prices for gasoline in order to force conservation? There's serious sentiment that new taxes should force the price higher than the fixing of prices going on today on the world market. The objective, ideally, would be to use the extra tax money to fund research into alternatives.

Now there's an idea: alternatives.
