MasterCard International's consulting business just got bigger.
The payment card company has acquired Watch Hill Partners, a customer relationship management firm that will be a part of its MasterCard Advisors consulting arm.
In February, MasterCard bought the market research firm TowerGroup of Needham, Mass., for a reported $23 million. But TowerGroup is run separately from the customer experience group that will absorb Watch Hill. Nalini Indorf Kaplan, the global practice leader for the group, said the earlier deal had no bearing on the Watch Hill purchase. (It closed Tuesday and was announced Wednesday.)
