Here's an astounding fact: In 2003 4.8 million people visited a dermatologist to be treated for an acne-related condition, according to the Dermatology Times Fact Book. That was an increase of some 200,000 visits from 2002. Not only did those acne patients receive a prescription, they often received two or more. What's more, recent research conducted by Galderma found that 50% of the time dermatologists recommend an over-the-counter product alone or as an adjunctive therapy with a prescription product or procedure.
