Relaxation in aerobics, usually associated with a cool-down, can be a powerful tool in all segments of a workout. Pioneered by practitioners of yoga, martial arts and meditation, relaxation techniques are integral in developing speed, vitality and energy.
Relaxation is applicable to aerobics to minimize muscle tension, help channel the body's breathing and improve energy expenditure. Combined relaxation techniques improve exercise performance, reduce the risk of injury and heighten one's stamina.
APPLIED RELAXATION
A relaxed state does not necessarily mean limp. There is an active state of relaxation controlled by conscious breathing. ...
