As Hermione Granger, the witch-in-training in the film series based on J. K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" books, Emma Watson is the brain between two boys, Daniel Radcliffe's Harry and his best friend, Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint).

Now in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" (opening Friday), Hermione comes into her own.

"This film is really her girl power film," said 14-year-old Watson. "It's my favorite book. It's such a fantastic part for Hermione.
