LEGAZPI CITY (PNA) The Department of Labor (DoLE) in Bicol region reported over the weekend that the Philippines and the government of South Korea signed an agreement recently that provides for the hiring of Filipino workers for placement in Korean factories, hotels and sea-going vessels.
DoLE-Bicol regional director Ma. Glenda A. Manalo said the job agreement aims to further expand overseas employment opportunities for Filipinos, particularly in Bicol, which is tagged as the countrys second poorest region.
She disclosed that the DoLE and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) will serve as a special unit in the hiring program for the Korean job ...
