Adam Tihany

While Adam Tihany's renown can perhaps be described in a single sentence, the scope of his work and a detailing of geographic locales would fill a small book. Quite simply, Tihany may well be America's pre-eminent restaurant designer today. In New York, it was he who defined the upscale trattoria and brasserie with his own restaurant Remi and with Malvasia, Bice, Metro and Nicole. On a somewhat more formal note he designed the ever-chic Le Cirque and Huberts where Eastern and Western sensitivities meshed in quiet sophistication. Moving from Manhattan, he took Bice and Remi to Los Angeles and collaborated with chef Lydia Shire to create Biba in Boston.
