The door to the lowly garage usually has been an afterthought for most homeowners. Whatever the builder put in was fine. Few pondered optional choices. As long as it was the same color as the front door or shutters, things were peachy. After all, it was just a garage door. Something that should be there but not really noticed.
But garages are moving up in the world. Today, they're larger than ever, with two- and three-car garages commanding more space and dominating the look of many new homes. Done right, properly dressed garages are adding style and curb appeal - and turning people's heads.
