VIRGINIA BEACH -- The fifth Navy SEAL from a Virginia Beach unit to die in Afghanistan was "a tough guy at the right times," according to a high school buddy.
Petty Officer 1st Class Brian Ouellette, 37, a 14-year veteran assigned to Special Warfare Group 2 at Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base, was one of four members of the U.S. special forces killed Saturday when their Humvee struck a roadside mine.
"He'd smack you in the mouth between the whistles," said Steve Duffy , a former football teammate of Ouellette's at Waltham High School, just west of Boston.
