Philosophy is an area of study that examines the mysteries of existence and reality. It tries to ascertain the nature of truth and knowledge, to define what is of basic value and importance in life. Philosophy also examines the relationships between humanity, and nature and between the individual and society. Evolving out of the desire to know and understand, it is a form of inquiry, a process of analysis, criticism, interpretation and speculation. (1)
