PROJECT OVERVIEW:
Global oil prices have risen to records as economic growth boosts demand, encouraging exploration and production. As a result, the local PETROLEO BRASILEIRO SA (PETROBRAS) recently awarded an offshore platform construction contract to a Singaporean/French joint venture. The partners in the planned undertaking and their respective shareholdings include Singapore-based KEPPEL CORP. (65%) and TECHNIP-COFLEXIP of France (25%).
According to the terms of the award, the partnership will be responsible for building a 41,000 metric ton, semi-submersible, platform with an installed pumping capacity of 180,000 barrels of oil per day. In so ...
