Stride Rite is sprucing up retail division
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Stride Rite retail division is streamlining its operations and brightening up its stores with a new look, as the company shores up its business for growth during this recessionary period. In conjunction with these maneuvers, the children's wholesale division has lowered its retail prices for 1992 between $4-$8. The retail division, which has been closing stores during the past several quarters, is now operating only with its strongest performing stores, although there are still about four underachieving stores left in the chain which the company has plans to shut down.
