Tiny fossils 600 million years old may be the oldest evidence yet of multicellular animals with body plans similar to our own, it was revealed yesterday.
The creatures, oval blobs less than a fifth of a millimetre long, sported a two-sided body design long before such an arrangement was thought to have appeared on Earth, it is claimed.
