Fortuna is a Brazilian singer who discovered her personal connection with Sephardic (Judeo-Spanish) music and culture when she was already a professional singer on a concert tour in Israel in 1991. Since that time she has devoted herself to exploring the rich Ladino tradition. Apparently, however, that doesn't go as far as presenting the core repertoire on this album with any nod to authenticity.
