BISMARCK, N.D.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 2004

MDU Resources Group, Inc. announced today that Jose Luiz Alqueres has been named country president of MDU Brasil Ltda.

MDU Brasil is an indirect subsidiary of Centennial Energy Resources LLC, the independent power production unit of MDU Resources.

Alqueres is a member of the MDU Brasil Board of Advisors and president of the Board of Alstom do Brasil, a Brazilian subsidiary of Alstom, an electric and engineering conglomerate.
