The San Jose Convention and Visitors Bureau (SJCVB) and the San Jose Convention and Cultural Facilities report that more than 7,000 attended FanimeCon 2004, which took place for the first time at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center and the Civic Auditorium on May 28-31. FanimeCon, the Bay Area's premiere anime convention, drew thousands of local and international anime artists, dealers and enthusiasts to downtown San Jose, making it the biggest show in the event's history and generating more than $5 million in local economic impact.
