Jun. 2--FORT WORTH -- American Airlines agreed to pay $2.5 million in penalties to settle 50 alleged violations of federal aviation regulations dating back to 1997.
The alleged violations covered by the agreement included aircraft maintenance, flight operations, training, safety and record-keeping irregularities, according to a spokesman with the Federal Aviation Administration. Some accusations were disclosed when the fines were proposed.
