PITTSBURGH _ The St. Louis Cardinals, who have their corner-of-the-infield cornerstones in place through 2010, lost third baseman Scott Rolen in the first inning Tuesday night when he was plunked by a pitch on top of his helmet. But the first-base part of the foundation, Albert Pujols, picked up that slack and a whole lot more.
Pujols, who has hit safely in the last 10 games he has had an official at-bat, may have left the .300 mark in his rear-view mirror when he put together the second five-hit game of his career.
