IRVING, Texas _ A teenage mother accused of suffocating her baby with chili powder told police that she had given her infant the substance to make her stop sucking her thumb, according to an arrest warrant affidavit released Wednesday.
Angela DiSabella placed chili powder on her 5-month-old's thumb, an idea she told police she learned about on the Internet, the affidavit says.
But a large amount of chili powder was found all over Kira DiSabella's body and in her throat, according to the affidavit.
