You might be surprised to learn that the United States flag has its own official Web site. It's chock-full of information you can use to properly plan a celebration for Flag Day on June 14. On a recent visit, I discovered I had a lot to learn about the history of the ``Stars and Stripes,'' one of the most recognizable symbols of our nation.
For example, I'll bet you never heard of a man called Francis Hopkinson, who, according to the site, was the real person who designed the first American flag for our fledgling country. Like most of you, I learned in grade school that Betsy Ross should be credited with that distinction.
