Jun. 5--JACKSON, Miss. -- House members plan to return to Jackson next week and reinstate Medicaid coverage for 65,000 poor, elderly and sick people who are about to lose it under a plan the Legislature passed last month and the governor signed last week.
But the Senate went home Friday, declaring the current special session over, and saying the state constitution doesn't allow a do-over on Medicaid, unless Gov. Haley Barbour requests it.
