The first technology study conducted by the Mortgage Bankers Association predicted that lenders are going to ante up this year and invest heavily in technology. Results from the study were previewed at the MBA National Technology in Mortgage Banking Conference and Expo in Phoenix.
"The goal of the study was to establish an average return on investment of technology expenditures," said Gabe Minton, vice president, industry technology at the MBA, Washington. "People in the industry want to know how much they'll save if they transfer over to an electronic mortgage, for example."
