There was nothing stopping the Felicianos from getting their full slabs of southern-style ribs at Monday's fourth annual Rib Fest in Elgin.
"We go 100 percent," said Gil as his wife, Lil, was making the order.
"You go all the way when you come to the Rib Fest."
Intermittent rain kept the attendance much lower than last year's 2,200, but the seven local vendors and patrons carried on.
"The spirits are pretty high," Gil Feliciano said. "The optimism is never short here and that always helps."
