PHILADELPHIA _ For his predraft workout Monday with his hometown team, the 76ers, Jameer Nelson brought his baggy shorts, his tattoos, and the marvelous skills that won him numerous NCAA player-of-the-year awards.
He brought one more thing.
A chip on his shoulder.
Nelson, who led St. Joseph's to an undefeated regular season and the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament, read and heard Sixers coach Jim O'Brien's remarks that he did not think Nelson was a top-10 pick in the June 24 NBA draft.
