Dear Editor: In his May 29 letter to the editor, John Thousand suggests that Dane County should create a tornado spotter network. I would like to respond to this good idea: Dane County has a very active and sophisticated system for severe weather spotting!
Dane County, through our Department of Emergency Management, has worked with the National Weather Service for more than 20 years to develop an outstanding system of severe weather spotting.
