Jun. 7--The UA's Lunar and Planetary Lab has expanded into two new buildings, largely because of winning two massive NASA contracts.
One building will serve as mission command for the 2007 "Phoenix" Mars Scout Mission. The other will host researchers building a high-resolution camera for the 2005 Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.
"These moves have been extremely exciting, and frankly, absolutely essential," said Michael Drake, director of the laboratory. "What people don't realize that is with very large projects like this, you create a lot more jobs." The lab currently employees about 300 people but will add about 150 more ...
