Jun. 8--Alaska's insurance and financial industry, like the rest of the nation's, continues to consolidate. Federal credit union Alaska USA announced it has signed a letter of intent to buy Anchorage-based Ribelin Lowell & Co. Insurance Brokers Inc.
The purchase price is still being negotiated, said Nancy Bear Usera, senior vice president of corporate development for Alaska USA.
"It's something we've had on our corporate minds for years," Usera said of the deal. The credit union has offered insurance since the mid-1980s, Usera said, but wanted to expand and ...
