Jun. 9--Slipcover-maker Sure Fit has trimmed its staff to 450 people, down from about 670, as it works its way through bankruptcy proceedings.
In a further effort to rein in expenses and exit bankruptcy, the company plans to lay off an additional 150 employees by the fall. That will leave the nation's top slipcover-maker with a total employment of 300, down 55 percent from March. Most of its employees work at its offices and warehouses in Hanover Township, Lehigh County.
The private company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on March 7. It is ...
