KIOWA -- Pit bulls terrorized a community in the months before a woman was mauled to death and another was savagely bitten, prosecutors told a judge Thursday.
Prosecutors want to introduce statements from at least seven of Jacqueline McCuen's neighbors who say her dogs had long been a problem in their rural Elbert County neighborhood.
They hope to show that McCuen, 32, was aware that her pit bulls posed a danger months before Jennifer Brooke was killed by three of the dogs as she went to care for her horses Nov. 30.
