Be happy police are protecting you
I have a suggestion for Luke Johnson (Fence Post, May 21) who can't understand how difficult it is to protect yourself from someone with a knife.
It is nice to know Johnson is a "meat-eater for several years," but I think he should really think about what a knife looks like with a 6- to 8-inch blade, which makes the knife about 12 inches long. You're looking at a carving knife, not one a person will cut his dinner with.
Johnson also said, "If I were threatened with a steak knife, I would sooner laugh it off than open fire." Obviously, he hasn't had the pleasure of someone coming after him with a knife (a ...
