TOKYO, June 10 Asia Pulse - Consumer electronics start-up byd:sign Corp. will begin marketing on Thursday a 42-inch plasma television set selling for about 300,000 yen (US$2,734), around 200,000 yen to 300,000 yen less than comparable products of major electronics manufacturers.

Plasma TV prices are falling around 15 per cent a year thanks to intense competition. The introduction of byd:sign's low-priced model, which is being produced in China, will likely further put downward pressure on prices.
