Jill Mitchell and Pat Ashbrook will head to the Special Olympics summer games hoping to perform well in their respective sports.
But that's not their top priority.
"It doesn't matter if I win or lose," Ashbrook said, "as long as I have fun."
Mitchell feels the same way. She and Ashbrook, both Madison residents, will join more than 2,000 athletes with cognitive disabilities at the games, which begin today and run through Saturday in Stevens Point.
Joining the athletes will be about 700 coaches, 1,400 volunteers and 3,000 spectators.
