2004 JUN 16 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Cyclic AMP-responsive element-binding protein (CREB) binds to multiple loci on chromosome 22.
CREB is "an important transcription factor that can be activated by hormonal stimulation and regulates neuronal function and development," scientists in the United States explained. However, an "unbiased, global analysis of where CREB binds has not been performed."
In their study, G. Euskirchen and colleagues at Yale University "mapped for the first time the binding distribution of CREB along an entire human chromosome."
