Arkansas exported $1.2 billion of agricultural products last year, accounting for about 3 percent of the $40 billion in U.S. agricultural exports.
Agricultural products are a major part of the state's estimated $5 billion export sector.
Almost one-fourth of Arkansas farm income comes from exports, according to Gail Cramer, professor of agricultural economics at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
Total agricultural receipts in Arkansas were $4.6 billion in 1990.
