The developer of a small hotel that's eligible for tax breaks under the state's Empire Zone program asked a county board Thursday to cut its property taxes further.
Basin Associates LLC, whose partners include Pioneer Cos. Chairman Michael J. Falcone, in December opened the 19-room Packwood House at 14 W. Genesee St., Skaneateles.
The site, overlooking Skaneateles Lake just west of Skaneateles Creek, is part of an Empire Zone, so the hotel is eligible for a host of state tax credits, including reimbursement of all its property taxes for 10 years and partial reimbursement for another four years.
