The personal and political legacy of former President Reagan solemnly was celebrated over the past week with an abundance of grace, dignity and respect.

But lost in many of the tributes was Reagan's lighter side.

As former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher said at Reagan's funeral, "His humor often had a purpose beyond humor."

And it helped make him a legend.
