Jun. 14--WOOD RIVER, Ill. -- Like it or not, Wal-Mart will build a new Supercenter in town.
Land will be cleared for the new store and retail complex on 72.5 acres of land at Vaughn Road and Wesley Drive within the next 30 days. The new store will be built behind the current Wal-Mart at 1501 Vaughn Road.
But unlike before, not everyone is upset -- even after an anonymous flier circulated last September that accused Wood River leaders of orchestrating a "back room political deal" to win approval for the new Supercenter.
