What follows is a response to an item in The Circulator (4/06/04) covering thoughts by John Klingel, Direct Marketing Association Circulation Hall of Fame. Hanson was founding publisher and editor of FOLIO: magazine and was also very involved in the launch of NewSub Services, Inc. (Now Synapse).

"A lot of magazines currently don't do any direct mail now, said Klingel. And almost all magazines have reduced their volume of direct mail.
