Carbon County, Pa., Couple Challenges Districts That Appeal Assessed Values.

Jun. 15--The entire Commonwealth Court wants to hear a case in which a couple is challenging the practice by Carbon County school districts of appealing the tax value of some properties as they are sold.

Three members of the court heard arguments in March in the case David and Kathleen Vees filed against the Carbon County Board of Assessment and Palmerton School District.

But instead of the panel's issuing the ruling, President Judge James Gardner Colins decided to have a hearing before all nine members of the court.
