A former Eugene police officer on trial for sex abuse cultivated a relationship with a 19-year-old woman for more than two years, giving her beer and a fake ID, taking her on as many as 30 ride-alongs in his police car and visiting her at work on a near-daily basis, according to testimony Thursday in Lane County Circuit Court.
Roger Eugene Magana, 41, is charged with raping the woman during one of his many visits to her apartment. He is being tried on a total of 52 counts ranging from first-degree rape to harassment stemming from allegations that he sexually abused several women while a police officer.
