Jun. 16--Giant homebuilder Lennar Corp. has plans for as many as 11,000 housing units in south Sutter County, if voters give the OK in November.
A lawyer representing the company outlined the plan Tuesday night for 2,700 acres the company controls and got mixed reviews from Sutter County supervisors.
Since the mid-1990s, the county has pushed for industrial and commercial development on thousands of acres near the Sacramento County line.
But only one major project -- the Sysco Food Services distribution center in Pleasant Grove -- has been built. Lawsuits and other hurdles have stalled further development.
