May 29--Gasoline supplies in South Florida became tighter Friday at the start of Memorial Day weekend after about 400 Shell and Texaco gasoline vendors here suspended all gas sales due to high sulfur levels.
The new suspension, coming after regular and mid-grade sales were halted on Thursday, shut down two important regional fuel networks and put pressure on already high gas prices just as one of the busiest holiday weekends was getting started.
Thousands of consumers were frustrated and gas station owners lost sales revenues on one of their biggest weekends.
