May 28--A couple of days ago, Michaelene Sponheimer cruised the main drags of Delaware County, Pa., from leafy Swarthmore to the grittier streets of Chester, on an impossible mission.
She was looking for a decent price for a gallon of gas.
Instead, she merely burned up even more fuel, while her anger gauge began to overheat.
"This is terrible," she exclaimed, a couple of blocks after seeing a price of $2.33 a gallon for premium -- the type of gas her dusty black Nissan Maxima guzzles -- at the Gulf station on Route 320.
She reached up for an overhead compartment and grabbed a fistful of receipts -- "$30, ...
