May 25--FORT MEADE, Fla. -- Martie Ewest has joined the Fort Meade Chamber of Commerce as the new executive director.
"It just seems like a natural fit," said Ewest, 38, who moved to Fort Meade from Georgia last November. "I'm looking forward to this opportunity."
Freda Ridgway, the chamber's president, said the selection was unanimous among the board members.
"We could look at her resume and see that she has the organizational qualifications," Ridgway said, "but her people skills are remarkable, too.
"We also could see that she really cares about Fort Meade, and that's important," Ridgway said.
