May 21--RIO GRANDE CITY, Texas -- Defining the county seat of Starr County poses a challenge for city officials.
Restoration of historic downtown is of utmost importance, but so is the new commercial construction in the eastern part of Rio Grande City.
For the folks charged with developing the city of about 12,000 -- the city, the economic development corporation and the Main Street Program -- striking a balance between the past and present is key for the city's future.
Perhaps a movie theater will open soon so Starr County residents would not have to drive more than 30 miles to Mission for a flick.
