Apr. 30--Students moved from cramped to comfortable at Augusta Technical College with Thursday's dedication of the $8.4 million student services and classroom buildings.
The campus jumped in size by 25 percent, with 68,000 square feet of classrooms, occupational labs, a bookstore, a snack bar and admissions offices. Before those buildings opened, professors held some classes in storage rooms.
The construction of buildings 1300 and 1400 addresses enrollment figures that continue to climb, leaving some students on waiting lists for popular programs. Last year, the college recorded 6,601 students, a 20 percent jump from ...
