MEXICO CITY, Jun 16, 2004 (Notimex/Corporate Mexico by Internet Securities, Inc. via COMTEX) -- Hotel occupancy in Quintana Roo during the first five months of the year averaged 81.4% in the state's main tourist areas, namely Cancun, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, Riviera Maya, and Chetumal.

Undersecretary of Tourism Jose Alberto Alonso Ovando stated that in Cancun, average occupation was at 85.9% while Cozumel and Riviera Maya observed levels of 63.5% and 91.9%, respectively. Hotel occupancy in Chetumal and Isla Mujeres was 69.3% and 43.6% during the period of reference.
