An Oregon baseball team could win the American Legion World Series without ever having to leave the state.
The state tournament is Aug. 4-8 at All Sports Park in Grants Pass, and the Northwest Regional is Aug. 12-16 at Legion Field in Roseburg. The regional champion advances to the World Series, which will be held in Corvallis, Aug. 20-24.
"I'm not sure if that's good or bad," Bi-Mart Challengers coach Corey Nicholsen said. "Assuming you had that chance, the kids look forward to taking a trip and now you go to Grants Pass, Roseburg and Corvallis. But if you find yourself lucky enough to be in the World ...
